Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth
2 Timothy 2:15
I think your mum may have cellulitis. What is cellulitis? I asked my friend. Have you considered googling it? Yea! I forgot you can Google anything on the internet these days.
I responded. I brought my phone out punched the word cellulitis on the toolbar and behold... so much information on the word. I read and read and before I knew it, I did not just know about this single word, I felt so confident and equipped on what these disease was all about, how to manage the symptoms and where to seek help.
This "google it" experience I had got me thinking. One minute I was a novice on the topic while the next minute I had information overload. Thanks to the two students who organised the internet world. As I sat pondering on this, the Holy Spirit reminded me the scripture above. You can only know what you border to search.
Perhaps you feel far from God or you don’t know his mind about several issues you see around you. Until you search his words (Bible), you will never know what could save your life or guide you in the right way. This was why Paul encouraged Timothy to study the scriptures until he can defend the truth of his faith.
Likewise, Bereans in Acts 17:10-15. Christians who were deep in their knowledge of scripture because they were constantly searching Gods word to know his mind. If you too can take the time to search God's word, you will move from being a novice to a well informed bible student that can defend the faith. I can assure you God will no longer feel distant. Rather He will become a friend and father to you. Just "Google it"....
