Identity Crisis

Do you know that dentity crisis is actually a spiritual battle happening inside your mind right now. The enemy wants you confused about who you are because when you know your true identity, you become unstoppable.

Here's what's really happening when you feel lost or unsure about yourself. You're listening to the wrong voice. The world screams that you're defined by your performance, your appearance, your bank account, or your relationship status.

But God whispers something completely different. Ephesians 1:4 clarifies this truth: "He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight."

Before creation even existed, God had you in mind. Before you took your first breath, before you made your first mistake, before you achieved anything, you were already chosen. That's not just encouraging words. That's your legal identity in the spiritual realm.

Romans 8:17 takes it even further: "Now if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ." You're not trying to earn a spot at the table. You already own the restaurant. You're not begging for acceptance. You're royalty.

The problem is we keep looking in the mirror instead of looking in the Word. We're asking the wrong questions. Instead of "Who am I?" we should be asking."Whose am I?" First Peter 2:9 settles this once and for all: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession."

Notice it doesn't say you might become these things if you try hard enough. It says you ARE these things right now. When Moses felt inadequate and questioned his identity, God didn't give him a pep talk about believing in himself. God said, "I AM WHO I AM," and that was enough.

Your identity isn't based on your feelings about yourself. It's based on God's declaration over you. The devil's favourite lie is that you need to figure yourself out through trial and error through finding your passion through discovering your purpose.

But Jeremiah 1:5 reveals God's perspective: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." You're not a rough draft. You're not a work in progress waiting to become. Your identity is tucked safely away in the most secure place in God. Remember, Satan wants you stressed about your identity because confused people are easy to control.

As long as you choose Christ by repenting from your sin and saying YES to Him directing your life daily, you're already on the right track. You are a child of God chosen and accepted. Keep looking into God's Word (the Bible).
