Learning Spiritual Lessons from Everyday Life.
One thing that fascinates me is the engineering behind bridges. How someone came up with such a brilliant idea beats my imagination. Bridges allow humans to cross safely over obstacles like water, valleys or roads without covering the obstacle itself.
The benefits of bridges are many with one major benefit being that they link mainland to island and vice versa. With out them it would be difficult, if not impossible, to pass over major obstacles like seas that separate one part of the town from another. In other words, In other words if you want to pass over an obstacle, you need to “bridge the Gap”. Sound familiar? Most bridges I have passed have exciting things on the other side.
Imagine if I never crossed the bridge… So, do bridges have any spiritual lessons to offer us today?
Yes, they do. Let us explore this from a scriptural perspective.
Isaiah 59:1-2 says Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, that he will not hear.
Sin has created a gap between us and God. This means it is impossible for anyone to reach God. There is a big gap between us and him because we have sinned. So how do we ‘bridge the gap’ you may ask. Thankfully we don't have to work it out. God did it himself by sending his only son Jesus Christ to bridge the gap.
You have to choose to cross the bridge from now. Anyone who turns to Christ Jesus has free access to God now and in eternity. God bless,
